My story
20+ years teaching high school, a husband with a late ADHD diagnosis, and a mother's-eye view of wanting to get it right.
I have taught thousands of teenagers, and hundreds of them have had ADHD.
I have watched these kids try so hard. I have seen the frustration on their faces when their effort does not show up in their results. I have sat with teens in tears because they studied for hours and still failed. I have watched bright, capable young people shrink, not because they lacked ability, but because the system was not built for how their brains work.
That never left me.
When our daughter was born, my husband received a late diagnosis of ADHD. Alongside the relief of finally having an answer came something harder: grief. Grief for the years he had spent confused, exhausted, and wondering what was wrong with him. He told me that if someone had given him the right tools at the right time, he would not have spent years feeling like he was the problem.
I have thought about that a lot.
And then there is the part nobody warns you about before you become a mother. The desperate need to do right by your child. The guilt that creeps in when you feel like you are not doing enough. The helplessness of watching them struggle and not knowing how to help.
If any of that sounds familiar, I built this for you.
Not as a theorist. Not as someone who read the research and packaged it nicely. As a teacher who has spent 20+ years in the room with these teenagers. As a wife who has walked alongside a husband with ADHD. And as a mother who understands exactly what you are carrying.
I do this work because I have seen what happens when a teenager finally gets a system that fits their brain:
The relief on their face.
The shift in confidence.
The evenings that stop feeling like a battle.
I have seen it in my classroom and I have seen it at home, and I know it is possible for your family too.
You found this for a reason. You are not failing, and neither is your teen. You just need the right system.
I am so glad you are here.
